We are currently sponsoring an exhibit at the Pacific Northwest Dental Conference in Bellevue, Washington. Just adjacent to the metropolitan area of Seattle, this conference draws attendees from states across the nation and countries as far as Japan. We are located on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel adjacent to the main ballroom. If you are attending the event or are in the area, please feel free to stop by and meet our team. The conference will continue until Saturday. The AADD will be recruiting volunteers to act as disability support dentists (DSD) to help those dentists who encounter disabling illnesses or accidents.
We are very pleased to announce that our meetings with representatives of the Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington Dental Associations went very well. Our efforts to implement effective disability programs in those states is well underway and will go a long way with our efforts to lobby the American Dental Association later this winter.
Our conversations with the presidents of the Idaho Dental Association, the Washington Dental Association, and the Oregon Dental Association centered on how they can help their members with implementation of comprehensive disability action plans. We were also able to meet with the executive directors of the Montana Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Oregon Dental Association who will work to start the recommended programs in a timely manner. All the executives contacted expressed their strong support for our efforts and pledged their help with our quest to seek a program for disabled dentists at the national level with the ADA.
We will keep you updated on our progress and rest assured we are always be there to support those dentists who become disabled. Of interest is the questions we are receiving from many dental hygienists. Of course, our support will be available to the entire dental team and we hope to expand our efforts in this area in the future.
