Our executive team will be in Chicago the second week of March to present our detailed plan to implement a formal DISABILITY PROGRAM at the national level. We have the full support of the ADA leadership and the executive director (Dr. Kathy O’laughlin). This program will include a 24/7 hotline for injured/ill dentists and their families to call. In addition, we will be expanding the section devoted to disability on the website from 3 to 20 pages.
In the near future, monthly advertisements noting the program will hopefully start. The ADA will assign a staff member to coordinate answering calls. The ADA will continuously seek volunteers to act as DSD (Disability Support Dentists) to assist other injured/ill dentists nationwide. This active list will be updated quarterly.
Please feel free to contact the ADA directly in support of these changes. Notifying your ADA delegates/State dental leadership may also be of help. We will keep you informed on our progress. As always, we are there for assistance and real support. See our posting on the ten steps to survive disability.TEN STEPS TO SURVIVE DISABILITY. Please directly contact us 24/7.
